WILDTRAK (v1.20)- Home Range Analysis for the Macintosh

by Ian Todd

INTRODUCTION
Wildtrak is a program developed for the analysis of radio-tracking or
other locational data. Standard methods of describing the data are
included such as polygon and grid cell analysis. There is also a facility to
analyse speed and distance of movement and more complex analyses to
examine interactions between animals.

DEMONSTRATION COPY
A demonstration copy of Wildtrak is available from the address below.
It is also available for download at the Illinois Natural History Survey
Wildlife Ecology Software Server:
http://nhsbig.inhs.uiuc.edu/www/macsoftware.html
Full instructions are provided on how to try out Wildtrak on a few of your
own files.

ANALYSES AND FEATURES
Currently available :
- Polygon analyses
Convex and concave multiple animal plots with overlaps.
- Grid-cell techniques
Multiple animals plots with areas and overlaps.
- Drift
Enables drifting of home range with time to be evaluated
- Movement parameters
Distance and speed parameters for single activity cycles.
- Autocorrelation
Schoener's index calculations
- Static Interaction
Determination of correlation between overlapping home ranges.
- Dynamic Interaction
Identifies influences of pairs of animals on each other.
- Bearing Converter
Converts bearing data to coordinate data.
- Animation
Simple animation of movements over a study site map

COMING SOON!
Version 2 is currently being programmed. This will have a new user interface,
more options and additional analyses. A beta version will be available for
evaluation near the time of release. Users of version 1 will be entitiled to
an upgrade at a reduced price.

GETTING THE FULL VERSION
Please note that Wildtrak is not freeware/shareware and is a commercial
program. The full version costs 70 GBP plus shipping for a single user
