Program TRANSECT II Program TRANSECT has been modified to produce the code TRANSECT II. An interactive interface has been developed, plus the numerical optimization algorithm has been updated. TRANSECT II runs on a IBM PC or clone. The library FORLIB2 contains a number of screen manipulation routines required by the interactive interface. The Ryan-McFarland compiler has been used to generate the executable code. The files are "included" with many of the source code files, PARMTR.INC and SCREEN.INC. Parameter statements in these files are used to set dimensions for the number of data points, number of cell intervals, etc. The MAKE utility and its input file, MAKEFILE, are included with the source code to provide an easy procedure to generate the TRANSECT.EXE file. MAKEFILE furnishes the dependencies of source code files on include files. However, the user must have access to the Ryan-McFarland FORTRAN compiler. Users wanting to place the code on a machine other than the IBM PC or clone will have to remove the interactive interface, since these routines will only operate on a PC.
